AUTOMATIC ZIP FASTENER MACHINE

(SIZE NO. 2 THROUGH NO. 10)

Components necessary to produce metal zipper:

1. Tape with correct size cord.
2. Brass, Aluminum or Nickel Sliver wire
3. Slider

Note: these three components can be manufactured or purchased from manufacturers of these components worldwide.

Features:

•  A high speed, fully automatic, precision chain machine which forms and cuts individual elements from flat aluminum, brass or nickel silver wire and attaches them to a beaded tape. The tape can be made from cotton, polyester, or a mixture of synthetic and cotton material.

•  Murko Zip Machines will manufacture continuous single strand zipper chain, which will require joining to make double chain.

•  The chain machine can produce spaced lengths of zipper as desired by using the optional electronic programmer.

•  If a spacing device is not used, then a gapping machine is necessary to remove the teeth, to produce the desired spaced lengths of zipper.

Optional Equipment:

•  ELECTRONIC PROGRAMMER

Automatically controls the zipper length and gap to required size. The lengths of zipper and gap are adjusted easily and quickly.

•  AIR SUCTION PUMP

Necessary to remove the metallic waste and chips from the chain machine resulting from forming of the element. The pump is furnished with hoses and fittings. Either individual suction pumps or one large vacuum pump that is sufficient for up to seven zip machines is available. Waste containers can be supplied for storage of chips.

•  SHOCK ABSORBERS

Necessary to reduce vibration and noise of the chain machine.

•  TAPE SHUT OFF

Automatically shuts off machine when tape runs out, or when tape tears.

•  PIECE COUNTER

For the counting of individual zippers produced.

Technical Advantages:

1. Machines are simple and economical to operate. One operator can operate 7-8 machines without difficulties.
2. Machines are inexpensive to maintain.
3. Machines are constructed for easy access to all parts. Working parts are visible, thus avoiding major problems before they occur.
4. A mechanic can interchange a #3 machine to a #5 in 3 hours, using a minimum amount of parts. (However, a separate machine for each size is recommended.)
5. Number of elements per inch can be varied, by change of gear, in approx. 1 hour.
6. 17 lbs. Of aluminum wire or 48 lbs. of brass wire is required for 1,000 yards of #3 zipper chain. For #5, 28lbs. of aluminum or 94 lbs of brass wire per 1,000 yards is required.
7. Thus potential problems can be avoided.

Capacity:

3,600 to 4,000 single yards in an 8-hour day.
